Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau
The concentration camp in Auschwitz was established by German Nazis on the outskirts of the town Oswiecim in 1940. After the war, the camp was turned into museum displaying evidence of the genocide. Block no. 11, known as the Death Block, was where people were murdered also at the “Wall of Death”. Outside the camp, there is a gas chamber, where 70,000 people were killed in 1940-1943. A film made after the liberation of the camp is shown in various language version in the museum. In 1941, 3 kilometres from Oswiecim, in the former village of Brzezinka, the German Nazis established a new camp called Auschwitz II Birkenau. In 1942-1945, approx. 1.5 million people lived and died here. Most of them (90%) were Jews, others were Poles, Gypsies, Russians and prisoners from 28 countries of Europe, people of all nationalities and political and religious persuasions. Since 1944, transports of prisoners from all over the continent entered directly through the “Gate of Death”. In 1979, Auschwitz – Birkenau Concentration Camp was listed a UNESCO World Culture and National Heritage Site.

Excellent trip and very well organised
Lewis B, 02-01-2023
Excellent trip. Very well organised and all ran very smoothly with hotel pickup, help into your train and taxis to Auschwitz for a guided tour. Auschwitz felt a little rushed but mainly due to being very busy and your groups having to move on to keep the flow around the sites. This is apparently normal but you definitely could have come back a second day to take it all in.

Highly recommend though and certainly worth doing if you are in Warsaw. It is a very long day though with our trip starting at 4:30am and not getting back until 11:30pm so be prepared for that.
Great historical tour

It was a long and exhausting day, however, very worth it. Krakow was a beautiful place. We really enjoyed walking around the town, eating and shopping. Auschwitz was a difficult place to visit, very emotional, but an important part of history we can’t ever forget. I highly recommend this tour, but be prepared for a long day.
A must visit

The tour was very well organised and we even had an option for a packed lunch as the schedule was tight for stopping to eat. The camps were as harrowing as I expected them to be and the knowledge and narrative of our tour guide was totally on point. An unmissable experience.
Moving experience excellent tour company

This will be a moving experience for you for sure but one well taken. Do this! Now, the company did an excellent job in accommodating the logistics of getting us there from Warsaw. Nice high speed train ride was comfortable, then van ride with 10 others was mildly confusing but handled well. Skip the bag lunch they offer there are eating options but a quick bite n go is all you get.. I suggest eat on the train up and in Krakow on the return. We missed the return train with the group, had to take the next one 15 minutes later and the company arrange transport for our late return!! Now that is so welcomed and appreciated… book this tour with this company
Well organised trip from start to finish. The drivers were punctual and friendly.

An informative and respectful tour around the camps with an amazing guide. A very long day as we travelled from Warsaw, but so worth it.
