What To Expect

Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego
1944 was a terrifying year for Warsaw. With its magnificent historical tenements, state-of-the-art sewage system, rapid growth, style and courtesy, this beautiful city, a real social, architectural and religious melting pot used to be called „The Pearl of the North”. This marvelous city was demolished almost to the last building and the last brick. A generation of people who were not even 20, the future of the country, perished. What was it that pushed Poles to rise? Was not the price for potential freedom won in battle too high?

The Warsaw Rising Museum is not a typical museum. It is more of a time machine that takes its visitors back to 1944.

The days preceding the rising, its consecutive phases and eventual failure are presented with the use of images and sounds. The visitors can see over 1000 authentic exhibits and 1500 photographs and movies. Additionally, the guests can watch a 5 minutes long 3D simulation of a flight over demolished and desolate Warsaw.

POLIN Muzeum Historii Zydow Polskich
The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is a museum located in Warsaw documenting the centuries-old history of Jews in Poland.

The museum fantastically describes the contribution of Jews to the development of Polish culture, economy, and science.

In the virtual library, you can see masterpieces of Hebrew and Yiddish literature in a multimedia form: Talmud, religious, philosophical and moral works. Anyone can also print the title page from the 16th-century book on the press, and this is only a small part of the adventure with Jewish culture as it is in the Museum. Multimedia exhibitions await visitors, showing how Poles and Jews lived together for many hundreds of years and how both cultures merged together. In the conventional space you can get acquainted with the family and neighborly relations, look at the Jewish-Christian relationship. It is a huge part of the human history of this city.

A place definitely worth seeing.

Brilliant tour!!!

We went on the tour of the Warsaw uprising museum and POLIN museum. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, fun, polite and friendly and made the whole thing really enjoyable. We really enjoyed the day and would recommend and we have already told our friends about how good it was. Prompt pick up and drop off too.
Excellent self tour

You must hire the commentary pack they have It’s available in the small shop as you go in and very easy to use. Putting a corresponding number into machine as indicated on each exhibition.
Comfy pair of shoes but there are seats for older weary public. Free entry on Sundays but therefore will be much busier for small screen showings. Many original articles from the uprising. If you like the history or have had family members from this time it’s invaluable.
One of the best museums I’ve visited

A friend recommended this museum and as it’s free on sunday ( you still have to get a ticket from the small building but it is free) we went along. All of the exhibits are described in English and polish and the museum tells the complete story of the uprising and has some thought provoking exhibits. For those who can read polish there are small calendar slips that out line key events as you go round. Well worth a look and no need for an audible guide
Big Museum about Uprising in 1944

Nice to get kowning the history of uprising, I didn't pick up the audioguide, but perhaps woths paying for it. It's a big museum and without the audioguide you can make an idea of what happens, but not deep enough.
Long queues to buy tickets, so I recommend you to buy online some days before
Hire a taxi and don’t take the tour
Ram_R, 02-07-2022
The tour coordinator was like a taxi driver. Save a lot of money by hiring a taxi everywhere and paying for the museum tickets by yourself and getting an audio guide.
Disappointed with Viator!!
